According to the World Health Organization, “disability is a human condition that, broadly speaking, encompasses a person’s impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions.”: "Impairments are problems that affect a bodily structure or function."
Over the years, people with disabilities have often been subject to prejudice or have felt stigmatized or discriminated against. Some of the barriers they face include the following: physical barriers, communication barriers, economic barriers, health care barriers, and attitudinal barriers.
