We would like to introduce Parahockey Madrid, an inclusive and pioneering sports club in Spain that enables individuals with physical disabilities to enjoy one of the fastest and most thrilling sports in existence. We are seeking prospective players with disabilities and believe there may be interested individuals within your university community.
Para ice hockey (para ice hockey) is an adaptation of ice hockey designed primarily for individuals with physical disabilities affecting the lower limbs (amputations, spinal cord injury, spina bifida, among others) and has been part of the Paralympic Games since 1994. It is played using specially engineered sledges and sticks that provide a profound sense of autonomy, speed, and freedom from the very first day.
Furthermore, one of the most distinctive features of this sport is that individuals with and without disabilities can play together on equal terms, making it possible to share the experience with friends, peers, or family members.
What do we offer?
· – An introduction to para ice hockey, an inclusive and adapted sporting activity.
· – The opportunity to meet new people and become part of a team.
· – The enhancement of physical fitness, well-being, and confidence.
· – The chance to form the foundation of Spain's first national para ice hockey team.
Prior experience in ice sports or skating ability is not required. We provide all adapted equipment and the guidance necessary for progressive learning.
Activities take place at the Palacio de Hielo de Madrid and are endorsed by the Royal Spanish Ice Sports Federation.
