Course: “Women and Girls with Disabilities: Intersectionality and Empowerment”
This course will seek to highlight how both ableist and patriarchal discourses influence the social status of girls and women with disabilities and to what extent they hinder compliance with the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, by analyzing the main barriers these women face, but also examining how an increasing number of women with disabilities are defending their rights and empowering themselves to reclaim a space that has been denied to them.
