The Spanish Sign Language Standardization Center (CNLSE), an advisory body of the Royal Board on Disability, will host a new edition of the CNLSE Congress on Spanish Sign Language between November 17 and 18, 2022, in a hybrid format (in-person / virtual).
At this congress, the CNLSE aims to offer a meeting space for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and reflections on topics related to Spanish Sign Language, Catalan Sign Language, and other sign languages.
The thematic tracks of the congress will serve as a forum for reflection and the exchange of ideas on issues relating to linguistic and cultural rights. This event is designed with a two-fold purpose: first, as an environment to discuss linguistic rights from any relevant perspective; and second, as a platform to disseminate initiatives and research on the linguistic, sociopolitical, legal, and cultural dimensions of sign languages as minority and minoritized languages.
The organizing committee invites the submission of paper proposals or round tables related to the thematic lines of the congress. The key dates are as follows:
- Submission deadline for proposals: until June 30, 2022
- Notification of acceptance: July 15, 2022
- Registration: starting September 1, 2022
