The objective of this gathering, which will take place from November 24 to 26, is to create a forum for debate and build a networking space in order to establish a specialized branch dedicated to disability within the field of Law. The conference will also serve as a forum for the presentation and discussion of the most relevant legal research related to disability rights.
The event is primarily aimed at public officials from the General State Administration, representatives of the various legislative chambers, members of the Judiciary, and professionals from the legal and advocacy sectors. Academic staff and university students from the field of Social and Legal Sciences, as well as personnel from the disability advocacy movement, are also cordially invited to participate.
The event benefits from the collaboration of distinguished speakers, including the President of the General Council of Spanish Lawyers, Victoria Ortega Benito, and the Vice-Chair of the United Nations CEDAW Committee, Ana Peláez Narváez. It also features various full professors and lecturers from several Spanish universities, Members of the European Parliament, lawyers, and legal advisors—specialists who will deliver lectures and participate in panel discussions to address the diverse themes of the conference.
