The goal of the meeting is to promote the participation of students with disabilities and their families in the education system on an equal footing and to prevent situations of discrimination caused by the digital divide, which has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event, which takes place on December 11 and 12, features various thematic panels, including one on the “Digital Competency Framework for Teachers” and another on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to education, as well as a workshop on “Approaches and Methodologies for Inclusive Educational Practices Supported by Information and Communication Technologies.”
The event is aimed at the educational community and anyone interested in this topic, and addresses the need for a digital transition in education that improves quality and equity so that education is inclusive and does not leave the most vulnerable behind.
Nuria Trugeda, the head of the university’s Unit for Support of People with Disabilities and Special Educational Needs, will attend the meeting, which is funded by 0.7% of personal income tax allocated by the Ministry of Health, Consumer Affairs, and Social Welfare.
