Fundación Once has launched this initiative with the aim of developing university-level job-training programs for young people with intellectual disabilities who are registered in the National Youth Guarantee System.
To launch this initiative, the Foundation has received financial support from the European Social Fund through the Youth Employment Operational Program, and it is aimed at all Spanish universities—including the URJC—and affiliated institutions. Following the four previous calls for proposals, more than 30 universities throughout Spain have been able to implement these programs, enabling young people with disabilities to experience college life.
In this call for proposals, the grant amount has been increased to two million euros. As a result, each university will receive 60,000 euros per academic year. The goal is to promote and develop, during the 2021–2022 academic year, training programs aimed at promoting inclusion in higher education and employment for young people with intellectual disabilities.
