The call is now open for the Queen Letizia National Disability Awards, awards granted by the Ministry of Social Rights and 2030 Agenda through the Royal Board on Disability to recognize dedication to inclusion and the defense of the rights of persons with disabilities.
Each year, they are presented personally by Her Majesty the Queen in her capacity as Honorary President.
These awards, announced for the first time under the category of "National Award" by the Government of Spain, aim to encourage and recognize the track record, dedication, and contributions of individuals, as well as public and private entities, toward inclusion, full citizenship, and the effective enjoyment of human rights for persons with disabilities, with special attention given to women and girls with disabilities, mothers and caregivers of persons with disabilities, and rural communities.
The award categories are:
- Research and Innovation.
- Accessibility and Universal Design in Municipalities.
- Workplace Inclusion.
- Inclusive Culture.
- Inclusive Sports.
- Human Rights.
- Inclusive Education.
- Gender Equality and the Eradication of Violence Against Women and Girls with Disabilities.
Deadline
The deadline for submitting applications is October 17, 2022.
