On Wednesday, December 7, the call for grants of the Queen Letizia Program for Inclusion in its 3rd Edition was published through the Royal Board on Disability managed once again by the ONCE Foundation, to guarantee the right to education and enhance the educational, training, and professional skills of persons with disabilities. To this end, the program is aimed at persons with disabilities enrolled in post-compulsory and higher education, university studies within the Spanish university system pursued in Spanish or foreign institutions, non-formal training courses organized for persons with disabilities over 16 years of age, and the preparation for and taking of competitive examinations for public employment.
The total budget allocation is €5,225,550. The call will award up to €12,000 per beneficiary from this endowment to cover expenses such as personal assistance, sign language interpreters, guide-interpreters for deafblind persons, assistive products and technical/technological aids, all essentials for training, or third-party assistance for commuting or mobility.
The eligibility requirements to apply for the grant are as follows:
- Holding Spanish nationality or legal residency in Spain.
- Starting or undertaking studies or training activities between September 1, 2022, and August 31, 2023, to enhance training, qualifications, employability, and social inclusion.
- Having a legally recognized disability in Spain of 33% or higher.
- Being a Social Security pensioner with an officially recognized pension for total or absolute permanent disability, or severe disability.
- Being a civil service pensioner (clases pasivas) with an officially recognized retirement pension due to permanent incapacity for service or invalidity.
- Individuals with borderline intellectual functioning who are targeted beneficiaries of affirmative action measures for access to employment.
- Being up to date with tax and Social Security obligations.
- Not being subject to debt obligations pursuant to a ruling ordering the reimbursement of grants.
Interested individuals wishing to apply for the grant must submit the corresponding application and required documentation from December 7, 2022, to January 6, 2023.
