On Wednesday, December 7, the call for grant applications from the Queen Letizia Program for Inclusion in its third edition through the Royal Board on Disability administered once again by the ONCE Foundation to ensure the right to education and improve the educational, vocational, and professional skills of people with disabilities. With this objective in mind, the program is aimed at people with disabilities who are enrolled in post-compulsory and higher education, university programs within the Spanish university system at institutions in Spain or abroad, courses organized for people with disabilities over the age of 16 (non-formal education), and preparation for and participation in entrance exams.
The total funding allocation is €5,225,550. Under this call for applications, up to 12,000 euros per beneficiary will be awarded from this funding. This fundingis intended to cover expenses such as personal assistance, sign language interpreters, guide interpreters for people who are deaf-blind, assistive devices, and technical and technological aids; everything necessary for training; or assistance from a third party for transportation or mobility.
The requirements for applying for the grant are as follows:
- Bea Spanish citizen or have legal residencyin Spain.
- Begin or be enrolled instudies or training activitiesbetweenSeptember 1, 2022, and August 31, 2023,to improve their education, qualifications, employability, and social integration.
- Have a disability that is legally recognized in Spain as being 33% or higher.
- Be a Social Security pensioner and have been granted a pension for total or absolute permanent disability or severe disability.
- Be a civil service pensioner and have been granted a retirement pension or a disability pension due to permanent incapacity for service or total disability.
- People with limited intellectual capacity who are the target of affirmative action measures to promote access to employment.
- Be up to date on your tax and Social Security obligations.
- Not be in debt as a result of a decision granting the return of grants.
Those interested in applying for the grant must submit the appropriate application and the required documentationfrom December 7, 2002, through January 6, 2022.
