The Exchange System between University Centres of Spain (SICUE) is a national mobility programme for university students, promoted by Crue-Student Affairs and Crue-Internationalisation and Cooperation, which has been operating since 2000. This programme enables students to undertake a period of study at a Spanish university institution other than the one in which they are currently enrolled, guaranteeing academic recognition, academic progress, and alignment with their curricular profile.
This exchange system takes into account the educational value of mobility, enabling students to experience different teaching systems, including internship arrangements, as well as the diverse social and cultural dimensions of other Autonomous Communities and Autonomous Cities.
Student exchange is founded on inter-institutional trust, information transparency, reciprocity, and flexibility.
The SICUE Technical Office is coordinated by the General Secretariat of Crue Spanish Universities and is responsible for managing the calls for applications.
In the 2021/2022 SICUE call for applications, a 5% quota of reserved places for students with a recognised disability degree equal to or greater than 33% was introduced for the first time. Specifically, the text set forth in the call is as follows:
“Se reservará un 5% del total de las plazas disponibles para aquel estudiantado que tenga reconocido un grado de discapacidad igual o superior al 33%. En el caso de que estas plazas no sean cubiertas, se podrán asignar al resto de estudiantes que no presenten certificado de discapacidad conforme a los criterios de valoración establecidos por el Órgano de Selección”
