The Spanish Inter-University Exchange System (SICUE) is a national mobility program for university students, promoted by CRUE-Student Affairs and CRUE-Internationalization and Cooperation, which has been in operation since 2000. This program allows students to spend a period of study at a Spanish university other than the one where they are currently enrolled, with guarantees of academic recognition and credit transfer, as well as alignment with their academic profile.
This exchange program takes into account the educational value of the exchange by enabling students to experience different educational systems—including internship programs—as well as the various social and cultural aspects of other autonomous communities and autonomous cities.
Student exchanges are based on trust between institutions, transparency of information, reciprocity, and flexibility.
SICUE's technical office is coordinated by the General Secretariat of CRUE (Spanish Universities) and is responsible for organizing the calls for applications.
The SICUE call for applications for the 21/22 academic year includes, for the first time, a provision reserving 5% of the spots for students with a disability rating of 33% or higher. Specifically, the text included in the call for applications is as follows:
“Five percent of the total available spots will be reserved for students with a recognized disability rating of 33% or higher. If these spots are not filled, they may be assigned to other students who do not have a disability certificate, in accordance with the evaluation criteria established by the Selection Committee.”
